Naturalization is the process that a green card holder will go through in order to obtain their citizenship in the United States. The requirements for Naturalization are spelled out in the Immigration & Nationality Act and the best part of Naturalization is that it is a legal right of Lawful Permanent Residents – as long as you meet the requirements, USCIS has to approve your case.
Criminal history does not have to prevent you from naturalizing. At The Sofia Law Firm, we have helped clients naturalize with a variety of criminal convictions including:
Grand Theft, Reckless Driving, DUI, Transportation of Marijuana, Burglary with Battery, Unemployment Compensation Fraud, Solicitation of Prostitution, Bulk Cash Smuggling, Battery, Possession of Controlled Substances, Robbery, Importation Violations, Aggravated Assault, Shooting into a Building, and MORE!
Because your right to Naturalize is based on the law and not the officer’s opinions about you – sometimes it just requires you to time your application correctly.
